COATING SYSTEM FOR MIRROR EFFECT ON GLASS:
Identify the most suitable not tinplate side of the glass surface by using the Wood lamp. Then follow this
procedure:
– Clean the glass AG—M500, specifically designed for degrease the surface and for maximizing the
coating films’ adhesion. This phase is essential to get the adhesion of the further coating films on
glass.
– Apply JW—M071/–C40 in further coats with very close nozzle air gun and very low pressure until the
required mirror result is obtained.
– After 1 hour, apply one 100 g/sm coat of JO-30C070 + 2% EF—M380/–G38 (FC—M070 20%, DF—M008 30%).
– After 2 hours from the previous coat application, apply one 100 g/sm coat of FO-XXM040/–C01 as per technical data sheet.
The coat of JO-30C070 additivated with grain metalized paste EF—M380/–G38 allows to maximize the reflection of the metalized coated surface and to make uniform the non-homogeneous areas of the mirroredsurface.
However, this step is NOT essential and it is possible to directly apply the black topcoat FO-XXM040/–C01 JW—M071/–C40 by keeping excellent performance of adhesion on glass.
COATIN SYSTEM FOR CHROME EFFECT:
– Apply the glossy topcoat FB—M596/–C01 on a polyester basecoat coated surface, previously
sanded with 320 and 400 paper grit, as per technical data sheet.
– After 12-24 hours, apply JW—M071/–C40 in further coats with very close nozzle air gun and very
low pressure until the required effect is obtained.
– To maximize the final resistance, after 2 hours, apply (being careful not to burn the product during
application) one light coat of JO-80M070 (harden with 10% of FC—M070) thinned 1:1 with medium
or medium-rapid thinner.
It is important to underline that the overcoating of JW—M071/–C40 can determine a variation of the
chrome effect in terms of aesthetic, even if a great adhesion between the coats is granted.
GENERAL REMARKS:
This product has unlimited shelf life. After prolonged storage time, mix well before use. In relation to the
metallic nature of its pigments, mixing could require the use of mixing machines with metallic stirrers.
