SUGGESTED USE:
-By spray to get the craquelet effect on topcoat in waterbased coating system (usually with a clash between the base and the craqueling topcoat)
APPLICATION METHOD:
By spray on coloured or pigmented base.
CRAQUELING TOPCOAT:
Use only strong topcoats like YO 05M760/ xxx high viscosity application (if should be necessary thinning with tap water, restore the same viscosity level byadding a thickener).The craqueling topcoat shall be fixed with a clear topcoat such as YO xxM750.
PRODUCT PREPARATION:
Clear or pigmented with waterbased stains or pastes.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
AYM425 shall be applied on smooth base in order to get an excellent and homogenous craquelet. To get thisresult, use clear waterbased transparent basecoats or waterbased pigmented topcoats even eithout sanding. We recommend not overcoating with PU or nitro based products (to avoid problems of adhesion). In case of application on glass, the on purpose adhesion promoter shall be added at 1% but it will reduce craqueling effect.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTION:
to get the maximum result of flowing (and to get the best homogenous result of craquelet effect) we recommend to use application system which enable the best product atomization instead of thinning.
COATING CYCLE:
craquelet effect is the result of tensions between the products applied. The factors which affect the drying conditions
also affect such tensions. Each factor impacts on the extent of the craquelet effect and be of obstacle to the craquelet reproduction.
Here below a list of factors:: difficult surfaces.
QUANTITY OF BINDER USED:
The more binder will be applied, the wider cracking effect you will obtain.
DRYING OF BINDER:
the shorter is the time from overcoating, the wider cracking effect you will obtain.
DRYING CONDITIONS OF THE BINDER:
with higher temperature or higher ventilation, you will obtain a thinner cracking effect.
BINDER’S CROSSLINKING:
by using the crosslinker for glass YC M419 thinner cracks will be get.
QUANTITY OF TOPCOAT:
the more is the quantity of topcoat as well as of the thinning, the wider is the crack.
DRYING CONDITIONS OF TOPCOAT:
with high temperature or higher ventilation, a wider crack will be get.
GENERAL REMARKS:
– Mix very well before use
– Store the product at temperature between 5 and 35°C. Shelf life is 540 days.
– On application the temperature of the product, the substrate, the coating and the working environment should never fall below 15°C.- Coating left overs (washing waters, waters from spray booths, used coatings) must be disposed of according to local regulations.Never dispose residues directly into drains.
